This series, streaming on Hulu, plays out like a well done comic novel – think, A Confederacy of Dunces. And, by the way, why hasn’t Confederacy ever been made into a film or series?

Who could play Ignatius J. Reilly (Myrna Minkoff could be easier to cast)?
The best candidate would be Victor Buono (via a time machine), especially as I think his role as Edwin Flagg in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and the character's relationship with his mother is one of the influences on the book. Laird Cregar or Orson Welles (with rejuvenation elixir) are other possibilities.
Thanks, Elgin. I'll have to see if I can track this down over here.ReplyDelete
